PRIVACY POLICY

PIXEL CAT

We're Pixel Cat Studios, a small indie team that makes retro-flavored arcade games. This policy covers pixelcatstudios.com and the games we publish: Astro Hero, Last Run, and Color Rush, plus anything we release later.

When you get our games from an app store or game store, that store has its own privacy policy for your account, downloads, and payments. This page covers what reaches us.

Basically nothing. 0 COOKIES0 TRACKERS

• No analytics, ad pixels, or cookies. The floating pixels are just for looks.
• Our web host keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, browser type, which page, and when) to keep the site running and fight abuse.
• Our pixel fonts load from a third-party web-font service, which sees your IP address when it sends them.

PIXEL CAT

• High scores & progress. Your best Last Run distance, unlocked Astro Hero gear, and so on are saved on your device. If your store or platform supports cloud saves, it syncs them for you.
• Multiplayer info (Color Rush). To put you in a race with your crew, our multiplayer service briefly handles your IP address, a random player ID, and the nickname you pick. Match data is kept only long enough to run and secure the match.
• Crash & performance info. If a game crashes, we may get a technical report: device model, OS version, game version, and what went wrong. It doesn't include your name or contacts.
• Gameplay stats. Anonymous numbers like "how many players clear the first level" help us balance difficulty. They aren't linked to who you are.

We don't ask for your real name, contacts, photos, microphone, or precise location. Ever.

PIXEL CAT

Purchases: the store handles all payments. We get a "purchase OK" signal so we can unlock what you bought. We never see your card number.

Ads: if a free version of one of our games shows ads, they're served by an ad partner. The partner may use your device's advertising ID and basic device info to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it, the game asks for your consent first. You can reset or limit your advertising ID at any time in your device's privacy settings.

• To run the game: saves, purchases, and multiplayer matches.
• To squash bugs and keep things fast.
• To balance levels so they're tough but fair.
• To answer you when you email us.
• To stop cheating and abuse, and to follow the law.

Nope. Never. We share data only with:

• Service providers who help us run things (hosting, multiplayer servers, crash reporting, email), and only as much as they need.
• App and game stores, for downloads, purchases, and cloud saves.
• An ad partner, only in ad-supported versions, as explained above.
• Authorities, if the law requires it.
• A new owner, if Pixel Cat is ever acquired. They'd have to keep protecting your data under this policy.

Some of these providers may be located outside your country. We only work with ones that protect data properly.

Come hang out! Just remember that our Discord server and our X account run on those companies' platforms, under their privacy policies. Anything you post there can be seen by other members, and we can't delete it for you. Please don't share personal info like your address or phone number in public channels.

Our games are fun for lots of ages, and we're careful about it. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the age your country sets) without a parent's permission.

Parents: if you think your child sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

• Website server logs: about 2 weeks.
• Multiplayer match data: up to 30 days.
• Crash reports: up to 6 months.
• Anonymous gameplay stats: kept as totals with no link to you.
• Emails with us: as long as the chat is useful, then cleared out within 2 years.

Saves on your device stay until you delete the game or its data.

Yes! Email us and you can ask to see, fix, download, or delete the personal information we have about you. You can also tell us to stop using it. We'll reply within 30 days.

If you live in the EU, the UK, California, or another place with privacy laws, those laws give you these rights, including the right to complain to your local privacy regulator. Using them will never get you treated differently.

Maybe, as we add games and features. When it changes, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is big, we'll also post about it on this site and on our socials before it takes effect.
